It Takes Balls to Talk is a campaign which uses sporting themes and key messages to direct people to help and support – and we need your help!

Would you like to volunteer with us?

We will be out and about at various sports events this year, speaking to fans about the campaign and how they can look after their mental health and wellbeing. We need people to join us to help continue our work and increase awareness of the campaign so we can smash out the stigma associated with mental health. It is likely we will get free tickets to the sports events that we raise awareness at… a perk of volunteering with us!

We are going to be at the following events over the next few months:

The Wasps Vs Harlequins, Ricoh Arena – September 17th 2017

Warwick Racehorse, Hampton Street, Warwick – October 5th 2017

Coventry Blaze vs Cardiff Devils – Skydome, October 15th 2017

Tickets will be available for the above events to all volunteers.

If you would like to volunteer, and haven’t already taken part in one of our training courses, you will need to attend the following session:

  • Monday 4 September

This session will run 6.00pm-8.00pm, at Coventry Council House. The session is run by Health Professionals who will train you so you feel comfortable and confident speaking to people about mental health. You will also be given the low-down on the campaign and get to meet key members of the It Takes Balls to Talk team.

If you would like to show your support for the campaign and are interested in volunteering, please contact jade.medford@cwmind.org.uk.
